Open Shelter Home

The OPEN SHELTER program shelters and caters to all children in need of care and protection in urban and semi-urban areas. This project was sanctioned by the government of Karnataka in December 2014 and started with full pledged staff from the 24th of January 2015 onwards. It started with the support of the Karnataka State Integrated Child Protection Society in Bangalore.  


What OPEN SHELTER does

As a partner of OPEN SHELTER, we provide shelter, give food, clothing, hygiene, medical care and basic education to children in multiple difficult circumstances, for instance:

  • children with substance abuse
  • begging children
  • street children
  • working children
  • ragpickers
  • small vendors
  • street performers
  • orphans
  • deserted children
  • begging children,
  • trafficked and runaway children due to love attraction
  • child married children
  • children of migrant population
  • children living in unauthorized areas/slums
  • children of socially marginalized groups
  • any other vulnerable group of children
